Our Commitment to Accessibility

Healix RCM believes that every person — regardless of ability — deserves equal access to information about healthcare billing, revenue cycle management, and the services that directly affect their practice and their patients. Accessibility is not an afterthought for us; it is a core part of how we build and maintain our digital presence.

We have designed this website with accessibility in mind from the ground up, following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). We also aim to meet the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as applied to websites and digital services.

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We conduct regular audits, respond to user feedback, and continuously improve our digital experience to remove barriers and enhance usability for all visitors — including those using screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice input, and other assistive technologies.

Standards We Follow

WCAG 2.1 Four Principles

Our accessibility efforts are organized around the four core principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines — Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR).

👁️

Perceivable

Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive.

  • All non-text content (images, icons, charts) has descriptive alternative text
  • Captions and transcripts are provided for all audio and video content
  • Content can be presented in different ways without losing information or structure
  • Color is never the sole means of conveying information
  • Minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
⌨️

Operable

User interface components and navigation must be operable by all users.

  • All functionality is accessible via keyboard navigation
  • No content causes seizures or physical reactions (no flashing faster than 3 Hz)
  • Users have enough time to read and use all content
  • Skip navigation links allow keyboard users to bypass repetitive content
  • Focus indicators are clearly visible on all interactive elements
  • Page titles and heading hierarchy help users understand page structure
📖

Understandable

Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable.

  • Language of each page is identified in the HTML markup
  • Navigation is consistent across all pages of the website
  • Form fields have clear, descriptive labels and error messages
  • Input errors are identified and described to the user in text
  • Medical and technical terminology includes definitions where needed
  • Predictable page behavior — pages do not change context unexpectedly
🔧

Robust

Content must be robust enough to be interpreted by a wide variety of user agents and assistive technologies.

  • HTML is valid, well-structured, and follows semantic markup standards
  • ARIA roles, states, and properties are used correctly throughout
  • Compatible with current major screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
  • Compatible with major browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
  • Interactive components communicate name, role, and value to assistive technologies
  • Status messages are programmatically determined without requiring focus

Technical Details

Technical Approach & Standards

WCAG 2.1 AA

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1, Level AA — the internationally recognized benchmark for accessible web content.

Section 508

Federal Rehabilitation Act standards requiring federal agencies and their vendors to make electronic and information technology accessible.

ADA Title III

Americans with Disabilities Act requirements for public accommodations, now applied broadly to commercial websites and digital services.

How We Build Accessibly

Semantic HTML5
Proper use of headings, landmarks, lists, tables, and form elements to convey document structure.
ARIA Implementation
ARIA roles, states, and properties supplement HTML semantics for dynamic content and custom widgets.
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard alone, with logical tab order and visible focus indicators.
Color & Contrast
Text and UI components meet or exceed minimum contrast ratios. Color is supplemented with icons, labels, and patterns.
Responsive Design
Content reflows correctly at 320px viewport width and at 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling or content loss.
Form Accessibility
All form fields have visible labels, clear error identification, and are accessible to screen readers and voice input users.
Link & Button Clarity
All links and buttons have descriptive accessible names that make sense out of context, including for screen reader navigation.
Motion & Animation
Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query and do not auto-play for users who prefer reduced motion.

For the most accessible experience, we recommend keeping your browser and assistive technology updated to their latest versions.

Transparency

Known Limitations

We are transparent about areas where our accessibility falls short of our goals. Below are known limitations we are actively working to resolve.

Third-Party Embedded Content

Some embedded third-party widgets (e.g., scheduling tools, maps) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We actively work with vendors to improve accessibility or provide accessible alternatives.

Legacy PDF Documents

Older PDF documents in our resource library may not be fully accessible. We are systematically updating these documents with tagged, accessible versions. Contact us to request an accessible format.

Complex Data Tables

Some billing and coding reference tables contain complex multi-level headers. We are progressively enhancing these with improved ARIA markup to improve screen reader navigation.

Video Content Without Captions

Some older video testimonials and case study presentations may lack synchronized captions. We are adding captions to all video content and prioritizing new productions.
